Here’s the week’s collection of tips, stuff I found cool and useful, and media. Always remember to have a good laugh.

Summer is ending soon.

This is a brief summary of my blog post over at my website that focuses on living Eastern principles for better health.

The focus is on season changes, how they affect you and what you can do.

With summer coming to a close, fall is rising up (ironic no?). Although men prefer to be creatures of habit, life flows better when you attune yourself to the changes around you. The sweltering heat of summer cools down to allow autumns winds of change.
Food availability changes. Your sleep should change too. Below are a few tips to prepare your self for the seasonal change to prevent being caught off guard.
1. Eat with the season, anything in season is fair game.
2. Sleep sooner and rise later when possible.
3. Shift your workout’s focus to building muscle over fat-loss or endurance.
4. Organize, tidy up, and plan for the joys of Autumn’s holidays.
5. Dive deeper into introspection. If you aren’t journaling, start now.

Top 3 tips.

  • Get a lacrosse ball. I have been using these to loosen up knots to allow me to move better during weightlifting. I recommend these ones.

  • Here’s a pull-up trick I have been using. Focus on trying to bend the bar by rotating your hands out. This hits the Lats better than not doing this.

  • Use a musical anchor. Don’t waste time listening to a playlist. Play one song and one song only. This preps your body and mind for whatever activity you are about to do. Currently I listen to this song while cooking. It’s quite adventurous, like my palate.

Masculine quote to ponder this week

“Let the man of learning, the man of lettered leisure, beware of that queer and cheap temptation to pose to himself and to others as a cynic, as the man who has outgrown emotions and beliefs, the man to whom good and evil are as one.”
-Theodore Roosevelt
